One-Stop Off-Site Architectural Façade Systems
Come To Desk And Desktop
- Back to News
Developers, designers and constructors will now find it much easier to specify comprehensive, BRE-certified
off-site architectural façade systems, with the launch of the MMC Alliance's new brochure and website.
The Alliance - formed to promote the benefits of Modern Methods of Construction using off-site systems to
investors, developers, designers and construction teams - brings together acknowledged industry leaders to
provide high quality 'one-stop' architectural façade solutions suitable for application onto steel or concrete
structures up to any height.
Initially founded by specialist manufacturer Kingspan Off-Site, the Alliance now boasts over 60 members
representing off-site design, manufacturing and site installation - an unrivalled source of expertise and
experience.
The MMC Alliance has now consolidated its offering to building designers and specifiers with the launch of a
brochure featuring off-site solutions from the members and additionally, a comprehensive website provides similar
information, direct to the desktop. In addition to promoting the advantages of system certification by a recognised
third party such as the BRE, both information sources emphasise the certainty of cost, time and quality inherent in
off-site construction methods: recent research has shown that it can take up to six times longer to complete a
building envelope using traditional methods, than when off-site architectural façade solutions are specified.
MMC Alliance chairman David Smith commented: "In its first few months, the MMC Alliance has already made its
mark and has processed millions of pounds worth of orders. Specifiers are reassured by the reputable, highly
experienced companies involved, as well as the BRE certification which of course guarantees the products'
performance, airtightness and weather resistance along with thermal, acoustic, fire and impact resistance
performance.
"This provides design and construction teams with a single point of contact for all their off-site requirements,
saves time and hassle, and ensures that they have access to some of the most knowledgeable experts in their field
with a single mouse-click or phone call. We're confident that the new MMC Alliance literature and website will
serve to further endorse Modern Methods of Construction using off-site systems as not only a viable alternative to
traditional construction methods but, in a growing number of cases, the solution of choice."
